Easier Impulse Control Course

“Why did you do that?”

It’s something parents of kids with impulse control problems say frequently. Like, multiple times a day. Sometimes it’s in exasperation, and sometimes we’re trying to help them take a moment to reflect. But whatever the case, it’s tiring to live with someone who acts before they think.

That’s why I created Easier Impulse Control. To help parents find a way to help their kids develop the skills they need to slow down just a little bit, and gain control over their impulsiveness. At the same time, I want to help you find a more positive and peaceful mindset to parent from.

Description

What can this course offer me?

In Easier Impulse Control, you’ll learn:

  • How to change the way you interact with your kid.
  • To see the behaviors that drive you crazy as strengths instead of liabilities.
  • About other actions that are also associated with impulsivity.
  • How to find community.
  • The steps to take to change your mindset.

I don’t think a digital course will help me- I’m a hands-on kind of learner.

This course is built for all sorts of learners; there are videos, text lessons, and a workbook to help really bring everything home.

What You’ll Find Inside

  • Access to your own Course Workbook, to help solidify the lessons and put them into practice.
  • The Workbook is a space to personalize the course for you, your child and your family.
  • A useful compilation of other common behaviors related to impulse control problems, so you can gain a more complete picture of what’s going on for your kid.
  • Practical activities to help you find your child’s strengths, which you can then use in the solutions for the impulsiveness.
  • A new way of looking at self-care.
  • Several handouts of the Behaviors and Solutions page so you can ‘rinse and repeat’ for as many behaviors as you need.
  • Strategies to help you accept your kid, for exactly who they are; flaws and all.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

This course is for parents and caregivers of kids with impulsive behaviors. Your kid does not have to have an official diagnosis of ADHD for you to benefit from Easier Impulse Control. If you are looking for a straight-forward, manageable way to help your kid cope with their impulses, this is it.

However, this course should not be used for kids or teens with severe aggressive behaviors, who self-harm, or who may be suicidal. Please seek immediate in-person mental health treatment in those cases.

You’ve Tried Other Strategies

But nothing has worked. You’re a smart person, and you manage a million other things in your life, so why is it so hard to help your kid?

There is an easy solution, that puts you and your child at the center, so that the plan is perfectly tailored to both of you.

Easier Impulse Control can help you where others have failed, because you will have a concrete, yet flexible, written plan in front of you. And you’re going to be the one who ultimately has control of identifying the problem, and coming up with the solution. This way, you’ll know how to address your kid’s behaviors in the future, and you never have to feel helpless again.
